This Privacy Policy explains how Byaj Note (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information when you use the Byaj Note mobile application (the “Application” or “App”), available on the Google Play Store under package identifier com.byajnote.app.

Byaj Note is committed to safeguarding your privacy. We believe that your personal financial records belong to you. We design our software so that you retain control over your loan records, interest calculations, and transaction histories.

1. Information We Collect

We explain below the actual data collected by the application and the circumstances under which such information is handled.

Information You Provide

Byaj Note may allow you to enter information such as:

Phone number or contact details (entered manually or optionally selected to facilitate reminders)

Interest rate (monthly percentage, Shakda, or annual rate)
Interest calculation type (e.g. Village Byaj / Shakda, Simple Interest, Compound Interest)
Loan or transaction start date
Due date or payment schedule date
Payment date and payment amount
Notes, descriptions, or transaction tags
Reminder information and payment notification settings
Optional collateral or pledge details (e.g. note descriptions)

This information is provided directly by you when you use the application.

2. Automatically Collected Information

When you download and use Byaj Note, certain diagnostic or technical information may be processed by your operating system or integrated service SDKs solely to ensure technical operation and app stability:

Device Information: Device model, operating system version, and system language settings to ensure the user interface displays properly.
App Performance & Crash Logs: In the event of an unexpected crash or freeze, basic diagnostic stack traces may be recorded to help us locate and resolve bugs.
Local Biometric Authentication: If you enable biometric lock (fingerprint or face unlock) within the app, all biometric verification is handled strictly by the Android operating system on your device via the Android BiometricPrompt API. Byaj Note never accesses, collects, or stores your biometric data.

Byaj Note does not track your physical location (GPS), and does not harvest your personal contact book without your explicit on-screen selection.

3. How We Use Information

Information handled by Byaj Note is used strictly for the following purposes:

To provide core app functionality and allow you to record and track money given or borrowed
To calculate interest, daily rates, monthly rates, and payoff schedules accurately
To maintain structured transaction records and loan profiles
To display payment history, balance summaries, and settlement statements
To provide local alerts, notifications, and scheduled reminders for upcoming dues
To improve application performance and optimize battery and memory usage
To diagnose crashes, resolve software bugs, and maintain technical stability
To provide customer support and respond to user inquiries or feedback

4. Data Storage

Data storage in Byaj Note is transparent and under your control:

Cloud Backup / Sync (When Enabled): If you choose to sign in to Byaj Note (for example via Phone Number / OTP authentication) to back up or synchronize your loan records across devices:

What is stored: Your party profiles, loan details, and transaction history tied to your authenticated account ID.
Where it is stored: On secured Google Cloud Firestore infrastructure located in high-availability data centers.
Why it is stored: Solely to restore and synchronize your records if you change, lose, or reset your mobile device.
Who can access it: Access is restricted strictly to your authenticated session using industry-standard security rules. We do not inspect, browse, or monetize your financial ledger.

5. Third-Party Services

Byaj Note utilizes a minimal set of established third-party services to deliver app updates, authentication, and push reminders. Below are the third-party service providers integrated into the application:

Google Play Services: Used for distributing the application, managing in-app updates, and checking digital licensing.

We do not integrate extraneous SDKs, advertising networks, or data aggregation brokers.

6. Advertising

“Byaj Note does not currently display third-party advertisements.”

We do not include third-party advertising SDKs such as Google AdMob, AppLovin, Unity Ads, or Meta Audience Network in Byaj Note. We do not track you across other applications or websites for advertising purposes.

7. Data Sharing

“We do not sell your personal information or financial records.”

We do not rent, trade, or share your financial records, borrower details, or contact information with data brokers, marketing agencies, or unaffiliated commercial entities.

Information is only shared under the following limited conditions:

With your direct action: When you choose to export or share a loan breakdown, PDF statement, or reminder chit via WhatsApp, SMS, or email, that content is transferred through the sharing mechanism selected by you.
Service Providers: With our cloud infrastructure provider (Google Firebase) strictly for the purpose of transmitting and storing encrypted data on your behalf.
Legal Compliance: If required to do so by applicable law, subpoena, or governmental regulation, to the minimum extent required by law.

8. Data Security

“We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the application. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.”

Security practices employed include:

Transport Layer Security (HTTPS / TLS 1.3) encryption for all communications between the app and cloud servers.
Local application sandbox protection provided by the Android operating system, preventing other apps from accessing your private app directory.
Optional on-device biometric lock to protect access to the app from unauthorized persons holding your device.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

“If your records are stored locally on your device, you can delete them through the applicable features within the application or by uninstalling the application, depending on the app's functionality.”

Local Data Deletion: You can edit or delete individual loan accounts, transactions, or parties at any time within Byaj Note. You can also clear all local data by using the “Clear Data” option in Android System Settings > Apps > Byaj Note, or by simply uninstalling the application from your phone.

Cloud Account & Data Deletion: If you created an account with cloud sync enabled, you may delete your entire account and associated records directly from within the app settings or by contacting our support team at support@byajnote.com. Upon receiving a verified deletion request, all personal records tied to your account identifier will be deleted from our active cloud databases within 30 days.

10. Children's Privacy

“Byaj Note is not specifically directed toward children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.”

Byaj Note is a financial recording tool intended for adults and individuals capable of managing personal loans and credits. If we learn that personal information has been collected from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will take prompt steps to delete such information from our records.

11. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction and applicable data protection legislation (such as India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, or international equivalents), you may have the following rights regarding your information:

Right to Access: You can view all records and data entered into Byaj Note at any time within the application interface.
Right to Correction: You can edit and update inaccurate details, principal amounts, interest rates, or party names directly.
Right to Deletion (Erasure): You can delete specific entries, settle accounts, or request full deletion of your cloud-backed records.
Right to Withdraw Consent: You can withdraw consent for cloud backup by signing out or removing your cloud account.

“We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated Effective Date.”
